The sign above the track at Watkins Glen says "Speed is Beautiful", but Sunday, August 10th, it turned ugly for 9 NASCAR drivers.  With just 8 laps to go, they found themselves caught up in "the big one".  Click on the player above to watch in 16by9 wide screen.  Expand to full screen by using the control bar.  If the viewer has to constantly buffer, let it play all the way through, then view from the beginning.

As anyone who knows me, knows.....I occasionally draw from my years of on-air experience in radio and TV to do a little Voice Over work.  There are a few Voice Over Artists in New York and Los Angeles who are VERY WELL PAID for the work they do.  I'm nowhere near that level.  Never will be.  On Labor Day, 2008, the king of voice-overs, Don LaFontaine, passed away.  Don was a mentor, of sorts, to me.  He was the absolute greatest at what he did, without a doubt.  Although his name and face weren't all that well known, everyone who has ever listened to the radio, watched TV or been to the movies will instantly recognize his voice.  Below, as a tribute to Don LaFontaine, I've gathered a few TV feature pieces about him and a few others who excell in his profession.  Enjoy.....  and rest in peace, Don.
